Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026
Summary
PetScan collects only what it needs to run your account and your pet health scans. Your reports are private to your account, and you can delete them — or your whole account — at any time.
What we store
- Account details: your name, email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password).
- Your reports: the pet type, your description, the AI insights and a small, reduced-size copy of the photo you uploaded, so you can look back at past scans.
- Basic technical data (such as your IP address), used temporarily to prevent abuse and rate-limit requests.
How your photo is handled
Your photo is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to PetScan’s server, which forwards it to our AI provider, Google Gemini, to generate your insights. Google’s handling of API data is governed by Google’s own terms and privacy policy. The copy saved with your report is stored privately — it is not publicly accessible and can only be viewed by you, or by PetScan administrators when providing support.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your data.
- We don’t share your reports with other users.
- We don’t use advertising trackers on this site.
Deleting your data
You can delete any report from My Reports, or delete your entire account (including all reports and photos) from Settings in your dashboard.
Your choices
Please avoid uploading photos that include people’s faces, documents or other personal information. If you have questions about your data, contact us at hello@petscan.site.
Changes
We may update this policy as PetScan adds new features (such as accounts and health records). We’ll update the date above when we do.
